ISLAMABAD — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday said he has requested Singapore's assistance in facilitating the welfare and repatriation of 11 Pakistani and 20 Iranian seafarers detained aboard vessels that were seized by US authorities and are currently near Singaporean waters. The diplomatic effort marks a significant move by Pakistan to secure the return of its citizens stranded in international waters.
In a post on social media platform X, Dar said he spoke with Singapore's Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan regarding the situation of the seafarers and requested Singapore's support in ensuring their welfare and safe return.
